JOB AND CONTRACT TYPE:

Full-time, permanent position.

LOCATION:

CLC North East Office in Warsaw (Poland).

Occasional travel within Europe can be expected.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure continuous operations of the CLC office (registered as limited liability company in Poland) and administering the office premises:

  • Managing and supervising all financial and accounting operations (done by an outside accounting bureau);
  • Liquidity management and cash flow forecasting;
  • Perform various analyses for management;
  • Timely reviewing and commenting monthly financial statements;
  • Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances;
  • Financial reporting to partners of CLC NE;
  • Contact person for bank(s);
  • HR administration.

Supervise the procurement of goods and services required to implement the CLC activities (including event catering and travel), ensuring eligibility of purchases and correctness of procedures in accordance with Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe and EIT rules and EIT Food internal standards.

  • Develop and ensure respect of internal control policies and procedures;
  • Follow up of legal formalities with inside and outside counsel;
  • Ensure adequate insurance cover.

Contribute to financial sustainability of EIT Food:

  • Support the joint reporting and monitoring activities, in accordance with Horizon 2020/EIT requirements and engage in preparation of CLC’s applications for project funding;
  • Contributing to the preparation, monitoring and updates of annual Business Plans of EIT Food, with respect to KIC Value Added Activities implemented by CLC and CLC partners to ensure compliance with EIT and Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe regulations and mitigate relevant financial risk.

Coordinate with her/his respective colleagues across other CLCs and at the levels of EIT Food and EIT to implement synergies in CLC activities.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Master degree in a Finance field with at least 8 years of experience;
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;
  • Familiar with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process;
  • Familiar with Belgian VAT reporting;
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills;
  • Experience in the Agrifood sector is a plus;
  • Project-Management qualification;
  • Knowledge of digital systems and their management (e.g. databases, softwares, apps, etc.);
  • Excellent English (C1 level) and at least another EU language (Swedish, Finnish, or Polish would be a plus).
