The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is looking to recruit a Member Engagement Coordinator for its European Office based in Brussels.

Job Summary

The Member Engagement Coordinator works as a member of the Member Engagement team located in the IAPP Europe Brussels Office. This position supports member and volunteer focused programs and operations in Europe including the KnowledgeNet Chapter program, contributor management system, administrative oversight and member-focused communication. This position will work closely with the Engagement and Customer Services Team Leader in Brussels as well as the U.S. Headquarters Engagement team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports all member relations and operational components of assigned chapters, which includes:
  • Maintain a working knowledge of database procedures, systems and department processes;
  • Collaborates cross-departmentally to plan, organize and execute assigned engagement projects, which may include:
  • Coordinates the operational aspects of the annual Call for Volunteers in the assigned regions in Europe;
  • Collaborates to identify and update processes and procedures to improve member Engagement functions;
  • Proficient in systems, technologies and programs necessary to complete tasks, including ensuring data accuracy and integrity where relevant;
  • Ensure customer service excellence and consistency.

Additional Duties

  • Event support for IAPP events in Europe;
  • Ad hoc support of operational priorities as coordinated by the Engagement and Customer Services Team Leader;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent;
  • No data protection sector knowledge required, but an asset;
  • Prior background in coordinating volunteers or association management is not required, but an asset.

Language & Computer Skills

The working language of the IAPP is English, the candidate must be fluent in English. At least one other European language is required (French and/or German preferred). Microsoft office is a must. Understanding of SalesForce or equivalent CRM tool desirable. Specific training will be provided for IAPP tools.

Additional Information

The candidate must have the ability and authorization to work in the European Union. He/she must also have the ability and willingness to travel throughout Europe and the USA. On-boarding and orientation meetings, including training of IAPP tools will be provided.
