The Home Appliance industry, represented by APPLiA – Home Appliance Europe, is looking fora Junior Data Analytics Specialist to join its dynamic team in Brussels. APPLiA represents the common interests of home appliance manufacturers in Europe. The Association has 21 Direct Members and National Associations covering 27 countries. It promotes the industry's mission to increase appliance performance while reducing its impact on the environment. It plays an active role in the fields of energy efficiency, eco design, energy labelling, e-waste, resource management, smart living, trade, safety and standardisation.

The successful candidate will manage the data-related projects of the association. These include driving forward the Product Information Standard (www.picertified.com), coordinating the expansion of the internal market statistics platform, and researching and preparing the release of the annual Statistical Report. They will also work on projects relating to web design and management. The successful candidate will join the Smart Living & Competitiveness Policy team.

Candidates should be aware that this role focuses on data and IT, but also includes running working groups, liaising with members and web design. As such the ideal candidate will have a well-rounded profile to suit the variety of tasks. The successful candidate will have an interest in data and IT-related projects, as well as possessing the motivation and creativity to strategize independently on how these projects can be better run.

Main responsibilities:

• Support in managing working groups – Product Information, Market Research;

• Preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, presentations, documents and logistics;

• Presenting relevant topics to the APPLiA membership at working group meetings and general assembly meetings;

• Expanding the market research platform in coordination with developers and all stakeholders, providing technical assistance to members when required;

• Preparing the annual Statistical Report through research, use of Microsoft Excel and coordination with external partners;

• Running the online communications platform in coordination with the web developer, providing technical assistance when necessary and strategizing on how to improve the system. Opportunities to expand into more web design-related tasks.

Education:

• Relevant Bachelor or Master’s Degree (ideally technical) Technical skills:

• Good level of general computer literacy: Google Docs, MS Office, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, web-meeting platforms;

• Project management and presentation skills;

• Good skills to both write and edit engaging reports, briefing and position papers;

• Experience with data collection and processing. Personal qualities:

• Patient and with a detail-oriented focus on data;

• Independent, well organised and able to work autonomously as well as within a team;

• Flexible, organised with ability to work on a number or projects simultaneously and to manage competing demands and deadlines of association work;

• Capacity to work effectively in cross-cultural and diverse stakeholder environment;

• Ability to manage relationships with colleagues and members constructively, diplomatically and with discretion;

Languages:

• Fluent English (both spoken and written);

• Other major European languages considered an asset.
