Job objective :

Support the implementation of specific advocacy projects forward in coordination with the ISN Advocacy Manager and ISN Advocacy Director

Primary Activities

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of the ISN’s advocacy strategy and campaigns in coordination with the ISN Advocacy Director
  • Engage in stakeholder/issue mapping and research to identify relevant advocacy opportunities and challenges for ISN
  • Contribute to and participate in relevant stakeholder consultations or other similar engagement opportunities as instructed by the ISN Advocacy Director
  • Coordinate  seminars, workshops, roundtable discussions and other external events
  • Draft presentations, speeches, press releases and social media updates for both internal and external audiences
  • Recording minutes of the meetings  and prepare leadership reports for various internal
  • Work collaboratively with other ISN Departments (research, events, education) to organize multi-department projects and leverage existing ISN projects and opportunities
  • Support the ISN Advocacy team in various administrative and governance tasks – e.g. liaising with members, supporting Working Groups and Regional Boards

Required/desired Skills

  • University Degree in Politics, International Relations or Communications is desirable
  • 3 years’ experience in the health policy sector; ideally within a membership body
  • Knowledge of international health issues; ideally in the area of non-communicable diseases
  • C2 level written and spoken English
  • Demonstrable advocacy skills and good understanding of the health policy discourse
  • Proven ability to produce results within tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Multi‐cultural mindset and awareness
  • Strong digital skills - excellent with power point, excel and social media)
  • Previous experience with CRM (customer relationship management) software -  e.g. Salesforce and Member Suite – is desirable
  • Experienced team player whilst also able to work independently and under own initiative
  • Willingness to work flexibly – both time and location
  • Previous experience in large scale event organization is desirable

The Society represents a wide international network and provides an efficient platform for timely scientific exchange, debate and dissemination between healthcare professionals around the world. It is also dedicated to addressing the disparity between the developing and developed worlds in the research, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of kidney disease.

The ISN has 10,000 professional members from more than 126 countries.
