The European Climate Foundation (ECF) was founded in 2008 as a major philanthropic initiative to help tackle climate change by fostering the development of a low-carbon society at the national, European and global level. We support over 280 partner organisations to carry out activities that drive urgent and ambitious policy to help deliver a socially responsible transition to a net-zero emissions economy. There has never been a more important time to be working on climate change.

This is a unique opportunity for a self-starter to work as part of a highly dynamic, international group of individuals who combine their passion to make a difference with ambition and a rigorous and results-oriented approach. Reporting to the Executive Director for EU Policy, this Director will seek to ensure an effective and socially-just transition to zero emissions passenger cars.
In this role we are seeking a strong leader with the skills and experience to lead an ambitious and fast-growing project. The successful Director will demonstrate significant experience in politics, industry or civil society and a proven track record of incubating new initiatives or rapid growth. They will be an exceptional individual with a drive for the highest quality strategy, management and people motivation and will bring broad credibility with relevant stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent communications in English and most importantly will demonstrate a genuine interest in the mission and values of the ECF.
