Transport & Environment (T&E) is Europe's leading clean transport campaign group. We combine the power of robust evidence and a deep understanding of the transport sector with compelling communications and impactful advocacy. Created in 1990, we have shaped some of Europe’s most important environmental laws regulating the emissions of cars, trucks, ships and planes, and we play a major role in shaping transport policy throughout the continent. Our people work across Europe: our staff in Brussels, Rome, Berlin, Madrid and London collaborate with our 60 member and supporter groups to achieve our mission.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our clean vehicles team, focused on supporting the team in its work to accelerate the transition towards zero emission mobility in Europe. The position requires a person with some knowledge of EU policy-making, interest in climate policies, strong organisation, writing and speaking skills and the ability to work effectively in a team and meet challenging deadlines.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting major policy campaigns of the clean vehicles team, including car CO2 standards, battery regulations and wider emobility work;
  • Drafting policy papers, preparing presentations, organising and participating in meetings with policy & wider stakeholders, assisting in organisation of policy workshops and other key campaign milestones;
  • Building and maintaining good contact with policy-makers, researchers and T&E networks working on the ground across Europe;
  • Coordinating and liaising with T&E national network and members across Europe on key clean vehicles campaigns;
  • Commissioning and delivering impactful research tailored to the needs of vehicle policy campaigns;
  • Supporting the director in delivering on major projects, including reporting and project management responsibilities.

The successful candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • 2-3 years of experience, in the European Parliament, the European Commission or permanent representations desirable;
  • Good knowledge of EU decision-making processes and climate policies;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
  • Knowledge and interest in vehicle emissions desirable;
  • Strong team player & good communicator;
  • Basic project management skills, including events organisation;
  • Strong time management and organisation skills;
  • Flexible with good people skills;
  • Fluent in two of the major EU languages an advantage.

This is a full-time position based in Brussels.
