Role Purpose: The purpose of this role is to take forward the Eurodad network’s crucial work on development finance. 

The Network Outreach Coordinator will help to ensure that Eurodad builds strong and effective coalitions for change, and help to empower civil society organizations in Europe and beyond. The role involves project management, network strengthening, outreach and capacity development, coordination and information sharing, supporting the coordination of advocacy and capacity development for the Eurodad Network and its allies. 

The successful candidate will balance excellent project management and network coordination skills with strong interpersonal communication in a multicultural context, and the ability to plan, organise and implement on their own initiative. They will be excited by working at the cutting edge of development finance policy campaigns for transformative change, and have experience of working with advocacyfocused civil society networks or similar organisations. 

Key contacts: Eurodad colleagues, Eurodad members and other civil society organisations in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America. 

Contract & location: Brussels-based, permanent contract.

JOB DESCRIPTION A. NETWORK OUTREACH (35%) 

  1. Organise, facilitate and attend meetings, conferences, teleconferences and other processes with Eurodad members and potential new members and allies. 
  2. Respond to questions from Eurodad member groups, and other allies. 
  3. In close cooperation with the Eurodad Communications and Policy team, coordinate or support the production of outreach and capacity building materials targeted to the Eurodad network and potential new members and allies. 
  4. Support members of the policy team with network outreach as agreed. 

B. PROJECT MANAGEMENT (35%) 

  1. Coordinate and support the implementation of an outreach programme for European civil society organizations, focusing on development finance advocacy. 
  2. Communicate & coordinate with the donor and project partners as required.
  3. In close cooperation with Eurodad’s senior management, ensuring the project delivers and remains on track. 
  4. Monitor and support the implementation of activities of grantees under the programme, including checking narrative reports and ensuring compliance with MEL guidelines. 

C. ADVOCACY SUPPORT (20%) 

  1. Support the coordination of joint advocacy activities with network members and allies. 
  2. Keep up to date with key development finance issues, including monitoring relevant official and civil society activities in policy areas identified as network priorities. 
  3. Present Eurodad work at conferences and seminars. 
  4. Input into Eurodad’s advocacy strategies in key areas. 

D. TEAM AND ORGANISATIONAL SUPPORT (10%) 

  1. Support the preparation of funding applications, as required. 
  2. Support the team and Eurodad colleagues as necessary, including occasionally taking on tasks and responsibilities outside this job description to meet team or organisational needs. 
  3. Supporting colleagues and assist with the day to day running of the office

ROLE RELATED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE 

1. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: 

  • Reliable organiser: Strong planning and project management skills, including capacity development programs, advocacy planning, and event organisation. 
  • Capable networker: Good interpersonal skills and intercultural competence, including tactful but effective facilitation to agree objectives and get things done. 
  • Excellent communicator: Strong communication skills with a high standard of spoken and written English. 
  • Motivated team player: focus on supporting the team and Eurodad partners to achieve objectives, combined with ability to prioritise, use own initiative and work independently. 

2. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Previous experience in an advocacy or campaigning civil society organisation, particularly experience in network coordination, outreach and/or capacity building. 
  • Experience in the area of development finance, and related policy and political debates. 
  • Working in a CSO coalition or network and awareness of diverse civil society tactics. 
  • At least 5 years’ work experience including: 
  • Network coordination: facilitation of network participation and enabling effective means of working together.
  • Project management: planning, coordination, monitoring and reporting of activities in multi-partner, multi-country projects. 
  • Outreach & capacity building: design and drafting of outreach and capacity building materials.
  • University degree in a relevant subject. 
  • Computer literate, familiar with standard software, including MS Office. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Working in a developing country and/or working with organisations from the Global South. 
  • Experience with knowledge management platforms and e-learning. 
  • Experience in managing DG DEVCO funded projects. 
  • An affinity with Eurodad's cross-cutting priorities: Gender, Global economic governance and Climate (finance) which are integrated across all our work areas. 
  • Fluency in other European languages is considered a plus.
