This is a newly created role in our Global Commitment team, part of our New Plastics Economy (NPEC) initiative. You will provide instrumental support for the engagement with our global network, building the network through engaging leading brands and retailers and helping to build and execute the annual progress reporting process, all to create a circular economy for plastic. The New Plastics Economy Global Commitment is a global reference point for eliminating plastic pollution.
 

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to our Global Commitment Programme Manager your main priorities will be:

• Supporting the reporting process and delivering on data management
- You will support the team to build the reporting platform, prepare the reporting guidance and design the overall reporting process for more than 200 existing signatories. This will be very collaborative and you will be guided and mentored through this by other team members.
- You will become responsible for informing these signatories of the process and dealing with their questions as well as processing the submitted data which feeds into the annual progress report.

• Supporting the recruitment of new signatories and managing all enquiries
- You will support the team with recruiting new signatories to the Global Commitment, taking on the work for onboarding, maintaining our databases, and supporting communications.
- You will manage and deal with all incoming enquiries. You are expected to develop the insight and ability to address questions across the board independently or connect them to experts within the team and Foundation.

• Enabling strategic engagement with NPEC Participants
- You will be helping with the engagement of our network of ~50 leading global companies to deliver on their strategy on plastic packaging.
- Engagement via email, webinars, multiparty workshops, calls and bilateral feedback sessions.

Your profile

  • You will have a Masters degree involving data analysis or alternatively 2-3 years’ highly relevant work experience.
  • The intellectual capacity and analytical skills to understand the principles of the circular economy and applying them to the global plastic packaging system.
  • The capacity to collect, process and store large amounts of data, from company details to technical data on plastics. Experience with data management or IT systems for collecting, managing or assessing data will be a big plus.
  • Strong communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at various management levels, across a variety of business functions, industries and geographies.
  • A good academic record and degree level qualifications in business, economics, science, political science, or other relevant discipline.
  • Strong organisational skills and great attention to detail.

Desired starting date: January 2020 onwards
