Position: Full time/Permanent

Technopolis Group is growing and expanding in its core business and in several new policy domains. Amongst other things, we are expanding our evaluation team, specifically to support large-scale programme evaluations using a range of theory based and quasi-experimental evaluation methods and we are looking to recruit an experienced evaluator to join our Brussels team as a Principal Consultant.

Your experience and skills

Applicants should have a minimum of eight (8) years relevant work experience in a consulting environment and should have proven experience of project management and business development, including tenders writing.

We are particularly looking for experts with existing experience of working with the European Commission Better Regulation Toolbox and with an in-depth knowledge of European Union policies and strategies in the broad sphere of Science technology & innovation policy, or in other priority thematic areas of Technopolis Group (Green economy, health, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, industrial policy, etc.).

Expertise in quantitative methods and familiriasation with (big) data methods is a plus.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to winning proposals and produce high quality outputs, including policy evaluatiuon reports, for the European Commission as well as national and international clients.

Applicants should have strong communication skills and be able to work in an international and multicultural environment. Excellent command of spoken and written English is essential and fluency in other European languages is considered an asset.

The selected candidate would be able to lead varying tasks under tight deadlines, manage clients and partners, be willing to travel and be proactive. We expect our staff to work both independently and in close collaboration with others.

Main Tasks

  • Designing and delivering policy studies, evaluations and impact assessments;
  • Leading the collecting and analysis of data (quantitative and/or qualitative);
  • Managing projects and teams;
  • Writing and presenting client reports and deliverables of high quality;
  • Establishing good client relationships that ensure the work delivered fully meets expectations;
  • Identifying and leading business development and marketing opportunities;
  • Helping to grow the evaluation practice through preparing tenders including the design of robust and innovative methodologies.
