We support long-term business and policy objectives and run high-profile campaigns for clients in the private, public and charitable sectors that influence public opinion, impact policy and build support among the public and key opinion formers.
We are now recruiting for an Associate Consultant/Consultant to provide support to the PR and media team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a talented team across a range of EU accounts, supporting the strategic direction of accounts and the implementation of the day-to-day PR projects. This is a wide-ranging and busy role, working with a small team responsible for media relations, campaigns, digital communications, internal communications, publications and events.
The clients fall primarily across the nutrition, public health, human rights and third sector industries, although are constantly evolving. The new Associate Consultant/Consultant would thrive in a fast-moving entrepreneurial atmosphere, have a love of PR and a high level of professionalism. We’re looking for someone with experience in EU public relations, social media and integrated communications either in agency or in-house.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Implementing integrated communications campaigns for the company and its clients;
- Delivering proactive and reactive media relations campaigns in mainstream, regional and trade press;
- Supporting the PR team with corporate reputational issues/crisis management across the business;
- Securing and drafting op-eds, interviews and thought leadership in key trade titles on behalf of clients and the company;
- Implementing digital and social media strategies for the company and its clients, using a range of social media platforms and analytics tools;
- Contributing to company marketing including writing blogs and articles, identifying events and speaking opportunities, and securing media partnerships in the EU and the UK;
- Planning, managing and executing large-scale events on behalf of clients and the company, including virtual events and webinars;
- Researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted EU and UK media;
- Monitoring, collating and analysing media coverage of relevance of campaigns;
- Supporting the wider team on the delivery of new business proposals.
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject;
- Experience in EU public relations, media relations and corporate communications in agency or in-house. UK media experience an asset;
- Experience in digital media, including social media, website management and a good knowledge of SEO;
- Excellent written skills and demonstrable experience in drafting communications materials such as blogs, press releases, op-eds, thought leadership, reports and presentations;
- Experience working with and advising with stakeholders at a senior level;
- Ability to grasp complex and nuanced issues quickly and effectively, applying them to business objectives and translating them to engage key target audiences;
- A strong understanding of managing, maintaining and cultivating a network of journalist relationships in the EU for communications campaigns;
- A sounds understanding of the EU institutions and EU policy process;
- The ability to work and thrive as part of a small and dedicated team as well as without supervision;
- Well organised and able to manage multiple priorities and varying pressures to meet measurable targets and strict deadlines;
- A good team player, willing to contribute at every level;
- Some digital design knowledge and experience with working with Adobe InDesign, Canva and Spark (preferable but not essential).
