We are looking for a Communications Manager to support DIGITALEUROPE’s outreach work on a number of EU-funded projects, primarily in the field of digital skills and diversity.

The successful candidate will focus specifically on development and implementation of communication plans as defined in various projects. Additionally, the role will cover the creation, expanding and day-to-day management of an international stakeholder community.

As the leading trade association in the field of digital technologies and digitalising industries, we are looking for a motivated, pro-active candidate who is full of ideas that can help drive the organisation forward.

Key tasks and responsibilities

The main responsibility of the communications manager will be daily management of communications and stakeholder outreach tasks in existing projects, ensuring deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality. He/she will also be responsible for drafting communication plans in tenders for new projects.

Specifically, the tasks include:

  • Management, execution and reporting of agreed communication tasks in projects to the highest standard (incl. social media management, website content management, article writing, maintaining editorial calendars, preparation of newsletters and dissemination contents, visual content creation, etc.)
  • Community building and management within the projects scope
  • Working closely with project team members but also across other teams in policy
  • Outreach to policy makers and stakeholders on the subject of e-skills/diversity
  • Drafting and updating communication plans for projects (existing and new)
  • Communication of project outcomes
  • Monitoring results and impact evaluation

The communication manager will work in close cooperation with the Project Manager and report to the Director of Projects.

Required

The ideal candidate for this position should:

  • Be self-driven and organised
  • Work cooperatively with multiple stakeholders from across Europe
  • Understand and apply EU funding rules to projects
  • Possess communications management expertise in technology / ICT field
  • Provide expertise in generic communications and community management processes and tools
  • Be able to positively influence others to achieve results in line with project plans
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills – English native speaker level
  • Set priorities, develop work schedules, monitor progress towards goals and track actions
  • Be flawless in administration
  • Have a strong sense of aesthetics (previous experience in graphic design is preferred)

Profile

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to senior public officials and industry leaders
  • Evidence of management of communications/stakeholder plans in EU projects (grants, service contracts, FP7, etc.) completed on time and within budget, both from a content and administrative perspective.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Communication and Community management.
