The EPC is looking for a Policy Analyst (PA) to join its Europe’s Political Economy Programme, to work especially on topics related to the EU trade policy, Single Market and industrial transformations, starting preferably in September-October 2020.

The successful candidate should have a solid academic background, a good understanding of EU institutions, experience in organising policy debates, as well as knowledge on and a good understanding of current EU policy developments in one or more of the above-mentioned policy areas.

The candidate should have the following profile:

  • University degree in a relevant subject;
  • At least three years of relevant work experience (other than internships), including in policy analysis;
  • Demonstrated ability to research, write and present high-quality policy analysis;
  • Strong interest in European affairs and commitment to European integration;
  • A good understanding of some/all of the relevant policy areas: trade policy, Single Market and industrial transformations;
  • Excellent communication and social skills (oral and written);
  • Ability to engage and network with experts and interested stakeholders;
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Dynamic, flexible, reliable and attentive to detail;
  • Fluent in English.

The main duties are:

  • Development and implementation of the EPC’s activities on some/all of the following policy areas: Single Market (including the EPC's Single Market Roundtable), feeding into ongoing projects linked to industrial transformations and EU trade policy with a potential focus on the future of multilateralism and economic relations with the USA and China, as well as contributing to research and organisation of the Europe’s Political Economy Programme;
  • Research and writing policy analyses;
  • Overseeing/organising and moderating events (drafting event proposals, invitations and programmes, identifying and contacting speakers);
  • Liaising with external experts and interested stakeholders, as well as building and maintaining a network;
  • Supporting/leading fundraising activities for the Programme in the relevant policy areas;
  • Producing new ideas and taking initiative on projects and activities.
